Why boudoir?

When I first started photography, the idea of specializing in something was foreign to me. Everyone asked though! I had no idea. It only took me five months of shooting a mix of families, children, weddings, engagement, etc. until I finally tried a boudoir session with my sister. I immediately fell in love. The reaction my sister had to her images was priceless. The confidence she gained. I wanted every woman to feel that. I decided November of 2021 that I would become a boudoir photographer!

Below are a few of my FIRST ever boudoir photos! I'm still proud of these babies! Clearly my style has changed significantly and I've learned how to properly edit my images. Looking back I am so proud of how far I have come in 10 months of shooting boudoir.

Ever since then I have done mainly boudoir with a sprinkle of family sessions or engagement if someone asks. My true love really is boudoir. For a couple reasons. I'm a people pleaser at heart, so making others feel confident, beautiful, sexy, powerful, whatever it is, is my drug, ha-ha. I love making others feel good about themselves! Making them feel good makes me feel good.

Since deciding to specialize in boudoir, I have taken steps to educate myself to help me grow as a photographer. As you might already know, I attended a boudoir workshop in Chicago. The trip was amazing and I learned so much that I am now able to put to practice in my own space.

Helping women feel pretty, or regain their confidence is my job. And I love it.
